The Bamboleira jewelry label was born out of a desire to preserve and showcase Colombia's rich cultural heritage . Founded by Natalia Sánchez, Bamboleira works with indigenous artisans who have passed down their exceptional skills and craft traditions through generations. Many of these women come from indigenous communities such as the Wayuu, Embera and Kankuamo and bring their cultural symbols and techniques into the jewelry. The artistic patterns and colors of the handmade earrings and other jewelry tell of the history and cultural identity of their peoples.

For many indigenous artisans in Colombia, the creation of jewelry has a deeper meaning that goes beyond pure craftsmanship. The colors , patterns and shapes chosen are often an expression of a spiritual connection with nature and symbolize the close relationship between humans and the environment that is deeply rooted in their cultures.

Unfortunately, many of these women, especially from the Chocó region, have had to leave their homes due to the long civil war and seek refuge in cities like Bogotá. Despite these difficult circumstances, they have kept their traditional art alive , and Bamboleira allows them to continue to cultivate their skills and cultural expressions.
